Your First Visit Made Simple

Getting started with SCENT should feel simple and straightforward. Whether you are coming to us for sinus, ear, hearing, nose or throat concerns, knowing what to expect can help you feel prepared and confident about your first visit.

We are here to make the process clear, from scheduling and preparing for your appointment to understanding what happens when you arrive.

What to Expect

Your first visit is an opportunity for Dr. Wendy McConnell to understand what you have been experiencing, how long it has been affecting you and what may be contributing to your symptoms.

Your appointment may include a review of your medical history, a discussion of your symptoms and previous treatments, and an examination based on your individual concerns. When appropriate, additional diagnostic testing may be recommended to help determine the cause of your symptoms and the best path forward.

Preparing for Your Visit

Having the right information with you can help make your first visit easier and more productive. A little preparation beforehand allows us to focus more time on you and your care. Please plan to bring the following to your visit:

  • A valid photo ID
  • Your current insurance card
  • A current list of medications and supplements
  • Information about relevant medical conditions or previous treatments
  • Any recent imaging, test results or medical records related to your concern
  • Your referral information, if one is required by your insurance plan

If you are unsure whether something is needed for your appointment, call 0r contact us before your visit.

Your First Appointment

Dr. McConnell will listen to your concerns, evaluate symptoms and discuss possible causes. When appropriate, treatment may begin at your first visit or additional testing may be recommended.

Medical Records & Forms

If you have previous records related to your condition, please have them available for your appointment. Completing any requested patient forms in advance can also help make check-in easier.

Do I Need a Referral?

Referral requirements depend on your insurance plan. Some patients may schedule directly, while others may need a referral or prior authorization. Check with your insurance provider if you are unsure.
